Mahabba News

We're writing again this month as there are a few things to remind you about as well as tell you about!

Firstly, remember that the Meeting for Better Understanding is happening on Sunday 23rd June at 3pm.  A flier is attached with all the details.  Hosted by the Oxford Islamic Information Centre and local Christians, this event will look at perspectives from the Bible and Qur'an on the theme of 'The Return of Jesus - The Second Coming'.   Join us for a friendly and informative interfaith dialogue and discussion  at Tyndale Community School, William Morris Close, OX4 2JX. The Christian speaker will be Charlie Cleverly, Vicar of St Aldates Church, and the Muslim speaker is Imam Sidiqqi from Manzil Way mosque. There will be activities for children and free food and refreshments. Do invite friends - Muslim, Christian or otherwise, everyone is welcome to attend. Contact Amy Mulumba for more information at amy.mulumba@gmail.com.

Last month we told you about New Family Connections, a charity that helps followers of Jesus from a Muslim background who are in difficult or dangerous circumstances to find a safe place in a Christian home.  Jim was cycling 70 miles around the Isle of Wight to raise funds for New Family Connections - we are pleased to say that he has successfully completed his challenge!  It's not too late to donate, check out https://www.newfamilyconnections.org to find out how.

Magdalen Road Church are hosting an evening of multicultural praise and worship on June 29th, led by Resonance, a group of musicians from the mission agency WEC.  Those interested in exploring and experiencing multicultural worship are welcome to attend.  For more information go to https://wec-uk.org/events/engaging-nations-2.

Morning prayer at St Aldates on Tuesdays from 7-8am will continue through July.  We'll take a break later in the summer and will confirm the dates next time we write.

Blessings.
