Old Schoolhouse: I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among the throngs I will praise you. Psalm 35: 18 (updated 8th Nov 2019)

This week our hearts are filled with gratefulness – read on and join us in praising God for his goodness.

Massive thanks!

We are so grateful to the Lord for providing via the generosity of you all! From when the boiler fund request was made known up until now almost two thirds of the total needed has been reached. Thank God for all these gifts and all the givers. We hope that we will soon have all the funds to be able to smartly heat the Old Schoolhouse.

We are especially excited that 30 percent more young families are coming to Buttercups, Sunflowers and Daisies children’s groups since we moved to the Old Schoolhouse. May they feel welcome and at home, feel supported and may new friendships grow.

External events at the Old Schoolhouse

We are receiving lots of booking requests for the Old Schoolhouse, which is good news. Pray for wisdom in deciding what to accept and protection over everyone who uses the building.

Pray for active discussions with a local art cooperative who are considering being based at the Old Schoolhouse.

Sale of the chapel
We are happy to be able to report some progress on the sale of the chapel. The contract and deed of transfer for the chapel sale have been agreed and will be sent to be signed next week, though no date has yet been agreed. Please pray that this will happen quickly now.

Continue to pray for blessings on the buyers and their work with homeless people, and pray especially for those most vulnerable in our community and that we would be a very practical blessing to them, in partnership with others in the area, particularly as we are moving into the colder months of the year.

Planning
We received the pre-app response on Thursday, 10th October. John (back from paternity leave – continue to pray for him!) and our team of professionals are working on next steps. Please continue to pray for the team, that this process would move forward smoothly and for good collaboration among everyone involved.

Fundraising
We received a £30k gift from a generous trust, and are very grateful. This is great encouragement for us all and particularly for the fundraising team. Give thanks for this and please keep Jill Bain and the fundraising team in your prayers.

We are grateful for all gifts, big or small and pray that people would know how richly their gifts bless others.

Give thanks for the Langleys
December is not so far away and baby Langley is expected then! Give thanks for Hannah who is amazing in getting so many things and people organised! Keep praying for strength and energy and good health for Hannah and her family, particularly as this month we also remember their beautiful daughter Mim who is much missed.

Maternity cover – give thanks for Esther

More excellent news to give thanks for: Esther Field will take over Hannah’s responsibilities while Hannah is on maternity leave. Give thanks for Esther and pray that she would adjust quickly to her new role and enjoy it.
