Old Schoolhouse: A Warm Welcome
There's been a lot happening as we continue to prepare for moving to the Old Schoolhouse.
Moving in and getting the building fit
Praise God for good numbers at the last working bee, and for the home group bees that were held this week and will be held over the summer.
There are evening bees planned for Tuesday 16th and Thursday 25th July with the idea of dropping in on your way from home / after tea if it works.
The next regular working bee is on Saturday 20th July, and there are many more opportunities to do things through home groups.
There is lots to do to get the church moved across into the Old Schoolhouse. Please think how you might be involved and pray for those of us involved if you can't get involved at this time.
Preparing for winter while the sun shines
As we prepare to move out of the chapel and into the Old Schoolhouse at the end of August, we're trying to put everything right. Top of this list is getting the heating sorted so that it can remain home for the church and for activities such as Sunflowers. We don't have the money to buy a new boiler, though that would be the ideal solution. Pray God might provide for that through trusts, or within our congregation, or elsewhere. If not we'll need to either patch up the boiler or find a short-term heating solution.
Designing & planning
The terms of sale stated that we provide key worker flats as part of the development of the site. Ordinarily when developing new housing a share should be provided towards social housing, but the Council are willing to consider the provision of these key worker flats as the social housing contribution. Pray that the Lord would grant us favour in this and for our partner developer as he designs and plans these houses.
