Old Schoolhouse: Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Psalm 62:1 (updated 11th Oct 2019)

Community BBQ this Sunday
Pray for the community BBQ this Sunday, 13th October. It is a key opportunity to celebrate our life together in our area and to welcome neighbours into the building on the day.

Sale of the chapel
Please continue to pray for the sale of chapel to go through smoothly. At the moment lawyers are still talking about some legal points. Pray for them that they will manage to sort things out in a satisfactory (and swift!) manner. Pray for Martin G. who is the focal point on our side.

Pray for blessings on the buyers and their work with homeless people.
Pray especially for those most vulnerable in our community and that we would be a very practical blessing to them, in partnership with others in the area.

Give thanks that we received the pre-app response yesterday (Thursday, 10th October). Pray for Martin and our team of professionals as they will meet up soon to process the feedback and look at next steps.

We are so grateful...
for the safe arrival of baby Jude a couple of weeks ago! Thank God for this gift of life and continue to pray for Louise & John & baby Jude as they get used to life as a family of three.

for Martin Groth who has taken over from John while John is on paternity leave. Give thanks for Martin's many gifts and pray that he would be blessed in all he does. Also, ask him or anyone else on the steering group how you might be able to lend a hand!

There has been some positive interaction with a trust fund to whom we submitted an application for a large amount a couple of weeks ago. Give thanks for progress and pray for a positive response, and for encouragement for Jill Bain and the fundraising team.

Moving in
Sunflowers, Daisies and Buttercups have started up again a couple of weeks ago. About 100 children + parents/carers came through the door and everyone seems to have loved it. Pray for Phoebe and the team as they welcome the children each week. Pray for protection for everyone who comes and for much joy during their time at the Old Schoolhouse. May Christ's love be tangible.

Continue to pray that the heating will be sorted out quickly, both short-term and longer-term solutions – both are in progress. Pray for sufficient money to cover those costs.

Please pray, and join us if you can, for the working bee tonight, Friday 11th October, 7 pm. Continue to keep Catherine and Ally Shand, who are responsible for those, in your prayers.

Please continue to pray and give thanks for Hannah Langley and her family as they get ready to welcome a little one into their family. Hannah has a lot on her plate regarding the move in, organising us, or liaising with potential partners. Keep her in your prayers. Pray for a maternity cover too.

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; his love endures forever!
We want to remember that the Old Schoolhouse and the opportunities that come with it are a gift from God and should not be taken for granted. We are immensely grateful and excited about all the possibilities. Let’s thank him and ask him to help us see things through his eyes.
